The scan page now walks you through it: 1 scan your mailbox, 2 unsubscribe from the senders you pick, 3 block the ones that never honour it, 4 review the result and what was reclaimed. Each step shows only what it needs, works one-handed on a phone, and remembers where you were.

Browser-assisted unsubscribe for senders behind bot walls
Shipped July 2026. Some senders put a JavaScript challenge in front of their unsubscribe page, which refuses a plain request. When that happens we retry with a real browser that answers the challenge the way yours would, and record the outcome. If a page needs a human to solve a CAPTCHA we stop and hand you the link rather than pretend.

Block senders that ignore your unsubscribe
Shipped August 2026. A failed unsubscribe is no longer a dead end: block the sender and their mail is swept out of your inbox automatically, usually within the hour, on Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo and IMAP alike. Nothing is deleted, it stays in your mailbox, and you can unblock any sender in one click. Senders known to ignore unsubscribes are offered for blocking in step 3 of the guided scan.

Ghost Rate Index: which senders actually honour an unsubscribe
We are running a published study from a lab mailbox: subscribe to hundreds of real brands, unsubscribe from all of them, then measure who is still emailing 30 and 60 days later. The result is a public dataset and an annual index of the senders that ignore you. Day-30 read is done; day-60 lands in October, publication follows.

Tell us when an Open-link unsubscribe did not work
When you press Open link, the row turns green straight away. The link sometimes lands on a login wall, a preference centre or a 404, and today there is no way to tell us it did not work. We would add a small “Did it work? Yes / Didn’t work” prompt on the row, so a failed link is recorded honestly and the sender gets the block option instead of a false tick.
